Takeuchi Announces Two New Excavators
Pendergrass, GA - Takeuchi is pleased to announce the release of the new 300-Series TB370 compact hydraulic excavator as well as the new TB257FR compact hydraulic excavator. Takeuchi is committed to providing the North American market with equipment that features unmatched reliability and operator comfort as well as the latest in technology and performance. Both of these new models come standard with many new features and improvements that show this commitment.
The TB370 is the “tip of the spear” as the first model of the new 300-Series family of Takeuchi compact excavators. This new design boasts a wide array of state-of-the-art features that provide outstanding performance and productivity as well as all-day operator comfort. Inside the cab you will find an ergonomically designed operator’s station equipped with an 8” touchscreen multifunction color monitor with integrated air conditioner and radio functions. Beyond that, a deluxe high-back 6-way adjustable suspension seat, adjustable arm rests, low-effort pilot controls, large flat floor space, and integrated footrests will ensure the operator stays comfortable and productive all day. To ensure control is at your fingertips, an intuitive jog dial allows easy navigation and control of the multifunction monitor and other machine functions.
Operator comfort wasn’t the only focal point in the redesign; performance and versatility were at the top of the list as well. The TB370 weighs in at 14,793 lb and is powered by a Kubota V2607-CR-TE5B turbocharged diesel engine that is U.S. EPA Tier 4 Final compliant and delivers 56.9 hp and over 168 ft-lb of torque. Perfectly matched to the powerful engine is a load-sensing, closed-center hydraulic system making the TB370 an ideal attachment platform. The TB370 provides a bucket breakout force of 14,613 lb, a traction force of 16,479 lb, and a maximum dig depth of 13’ 4.8”.
Providing industry-leading attachment versatility, the TB370 is equipped with three sets of auxiliary circuits. The first and second auxiliary circuits are designed for use with a wide range of attachments while the 3rd auxiliary circuit is designed to be used with a hydraulic pin grabber coupler. The first auxiliary circuit provides up to 31.7 gpm at 3,550 psi and is equipped with our Auto-Tank feature for high-flow or one-way applications. Adding to the list of exciting performance features that come standard on the TB370 is the Auto-Pressure Relief feature which makes attachment changes quick and easy.
Proper maintenance is key to the longevity of a machine. Ensuring maintenance and service work can be easily performed decreases maintenance time and increases the likelihood that it will be performed correctly. This mentality was designed into the TB370 by integrating a forward tilting cab which provides easy access to the control valve, slew motor, swivel joint, and other components. In addition, large, lockable, steel access hoods on both the rear and side of the machine provide access to all other major components.
You asked and we delivered; the TB257FR is here! The launch of the TB257FR is just as exciting as the launch of the TB370. The TB257FR is the successor to the ever so popular TB153FR. Being the successor, we had to make it better and all efforts were in place to ensure that it is. The TB257FR has many of the new features that the TB370 has such as three full sets of auxiliary circuits, Auto-Pressure Relief feature, Auto-Tank feature, and a forward-tilting cab. However, the TB257FR has its own set of class-leading features that set it apart from the rest.
To start, the TB257FR is equipped with the same Side-to-Side (STS) boom configuration as the TB280FR featuring oversized king-pins and a heavy-duty swing knuckle for outstanding durability. This feature allows the operator to fully offset the boom to the right or left of the operator’s station which dramatically increases visibility and maneuverability when working in confined spaces. In addition, the boom can be stowed nearly over the center of the machine allowing the upper structure to fully rotate nearly within the width of the tracks.
Powering the TB257FR is a Kubota V2403-CR-TE5B turbocharged diesel engine that is U.S. EPA Tier 4 Final compliant and delivers 52.3 hp and over 144 ft-lb of torque. This engine is matched to a four-pump hydraulic system which provides outstanding multifunction performance and up to 27.7 gpm of flow on the first auxiliary circuit. With an operating weight of 12,675 lb (canopy), the TB257FR provides a bucket breakout force of 10,431 lb, a maximum dig depth of 12’ 9.4”, and an impressive 15,040 lb of traction force.
The TB257FR is available with a ROPS/OPG Level 1 four post canopy or a fully-equipped cab. Inside the cab you will find the same automotive-styled interior and comfort features found on current models. The controls, arm rests, foot rests, and display are all ergonomically positioned to ensure the operator stays comfortable and productive all day. The cab-equipped model features a 5.7” multifunction color monitor that provides real-time vitals and allows auxiliary flow adjustments and attachment preset changes from the comfort of the seat. Serviceability is also improved with the forward tilting operator’s station allowing easy access to the control valve, swivel joint, slew motor, and backside of the engine. A large, lockable steel engine hood and lower profile counterweight provides easy access to the engine, pump group, and radiator.
Takeuchi Fleet Management (TFM) telematics system comes standard on the TB370 and TB257FR and free access is provided during the 2-year standard warranty period. Additional coverage can be purchased separately and is also included free with extended warranty plans. TFM provides an abundance of information such as machine health and condition, run time (hours), and machine location. TFM reduces downtime and controls costs by providing remote diagnostics and scheduled maintenance as well as customizable alert settings. Another key feature of TFM is the ability to geofence your machine. This feature provides a significant sense of security when needing to protect your investment.
The TB370 and the TB257FR are both welcome additions to the growing and evolving line-up of Takeuchi products. We believe both of these products will offer you an excellent opportunity to provide your customers with a machine that delivers outstanding features, unmatched performance, excellent serviceability, and great value.
