EASY
The MA4 was designed to make longitudinal joint sealing easy for any paving crew to perform. Since it can be towed by a 1-ton work truck the driver does not have to have a CDL license or and due to the tanks size no endorsements are required. The setup and operation is basic and allows the crew to perform the job when the timing is right for them freeing them from the constraints of contractors.
ACCURATE
When it comes to assuring the details of the specification are met, the MA4 makes the task simple. First, the application bar can be set in just a few seconds to the specified width by activating the appropriate number of values. The interface of the MA4 is easily setup to dispense at the specified rate. Once these two basic steps are complete, the machine will dispense accurately, regardless of the driver. With the speed encoder bar down, indicator lights let the driver know when the system is active and notify them if they are traveling too fast for the dispensing rate assuring the specification is met continuously.
LOW COST OF OPERATION
The MA4 enables paving crews to invest in Longitudinal Joint Sealant freeing them of expensive alternatives. Contracting LJS is costly because contractors have expensive trucks, with expensive drivers, and the material they dispense is marked up. When you tow the MA4 on your time, with a non-CDS driver from your crew, and you control of the material costs, these factors all result in more profit.
SIMPLIFIED LOGISTICS
The MA4 allows the task of LJS to be done on the paving crew’s schedule so they are not at the mercy of a contractor. Weather delays create scheduling problems with contractors while the MA4 is there to work the minute the sky clears. The MA4 works well with bulk material and material in solid block form. For remote jobs, this means material can be available roadside so time is not wasted running back to the plant for more material.
